Il 2011 per Humour a Gallarate è stato un anno intenso ed emozionante. Al momento di scegliere un tema per la XVII edizione la luce si è accesa su un argomento di attualità e spesso al centro di dibattiti: l’acqua.
Non solo; dopo un’attenta riflessione la Pro Loco ha scelto come argomento il simbolo chimico dell’acqua, ovvero H2O. L’acqua come elemento primordiale, fonte di vita, simbolo di sacro e profano, ma l’acqua ancora oggi un problema per molti paesi del mondo, dove anche un solo bicchiere d’acqua è un miraggio e dove moltissimi bambini, uomini e donne muoiono ogni giorno per la sua mancanza.
Lo sguardo internazionale ci ha permesso di scoprire nuove realtà, di confrontare l’umorismo e le sue rappresentazioni in tutto il mondo, con la consueta consapevolezza che l’humour grafico è ormai una forma di comunicazione con una dignità propria, dove gli artisti si esprimono con perizia, abilità e sarcasmo.

2011 for Humor in Gallarate has been a busy and exciting year. When ready for choosing the topic for the seventeenth edition, the light went off on a topical and often at the center of debates: water.
Not only that, after careful consideration, the Pro Loco has chosen as its argument the chemical symbol of water, or H20. Water as a primordial element, the source of life, symbol of sacred and profane, but the water is still a problem for many countries of the world, where even a single glass of water is a mirage and where many children, men and women die every day from lack thereof.
The international outlook has allowed us to discover new realities, to compare the humor and its representations in the world, with the usual knowledge that the graphic humor has become a form of communication with a dignity of its own, where artists express themselves with skill, ability and sarcasm.
